How do I know which membership type is right for me?

Your membership type is based on your current career stage, professional role, and where you practice. Whether you’re a medical student, resident, fellow, practicing neurosurgeon, advanced practice provider, researcher, or international physician, CNS offers a membership category designed to meet your needs. Visit the membership category descriptions to compare eligibility and benefits, or contact the CNS Membership team if you’re unsure which option is right for you.

How do I renew my existing membership?

Simply login to your CNS account, navigate to My Orders and complete your payment securely online. You can also setup automatic dues renewal should you wish.

Do residents and medical students receive discounted or complimentary membership?

Yes. CNS offers complimentary membership for qualifying neurosurgery residents and medical students, providing access to valuable educational resources, networking opportunities, leadership development, and member-exclusive benefits early in their careers. Eligibility requirements apply, and you can review the appropriate membership category to determine your qualification.

What journals are included with membership?

CNS members receive access to the society’s premier publications, including Neurosurgery, Operative Neurosurgery, and Congress Quarterly. Select membership categories may also include or offer discounted access to additional publications, such as Clinical Neurosurgery, depending on membership type. These journals keep members informed on the latest clinical research, surgical techniques, and advances in neurosurgical practice.
